What is Telematic?

Diesel generator telematics is a technology that enables diesel generators to collect and transmit data remotely. This data can include information on generator operation, such as fuel consumption, operating hours and maintenance alerts.

Real-time data monitoring

Remote motor diagnostics

Remote management

Controlling fuel use

Why telematic?

The genset monitoring and control system is a hardware and software solution for monitoring fuel, monitoring diesel genset operating parameters and engine diagnostics, receiving electrical data from the alternator and remotely controlling gensets.

An intelligent solution for remote monitoring of diesel gensets ensures uninterrupted genset operation, reduces fuel and operating costs, optimises the maintenance schedule and prevents genset failures, thereby extending the lifecycle of the genset.

What are the areas of application?

Scope of application for diesel generator monitoring

Remote monitoring of diesel generators (also known as generator telematics) is used for industrial and residential electrical generators, which are used as main, reserve or auxiliary power sources.

Owners and operators of generators :

  • Owners and operators of generators . Remote supervision of diesel generator operation and management, monitoring of generator fuel, obtaining data for accounting and predictive maintenance.
  • Service companies We are committed to DG maintenance and repairs. Engine and alternator diagnostics, uptime monitoring, maintenance planning, just-in-time servicing and consumable replacement.
  • Diesel generator manufacturers. Remote monitoring of genset operation, engine and alternator status monitoring and overall genset diagnostics, collection of failure statistics, planning of genset design adjustments.

Remote generator monitoring

Generator engine and alternator operating parameters are measured and sent online in real time. The web-based generator monitoring and management platform shows users the current parameter values for each generator, group of generators or the entire generator fleet.

The genset monitoring and management platform enables a user to check the operation of the genset for the selected period, generate analytical reports - on genset fuel consumption, power generated, engine workloads, etc. - and monitor the performance of the genset. The platform is available 24/7 from Internet-connected PCs and smartphones.

Generator automation and control

Light Group's generator monitoring products enable certain processes to be automated. For example, using data from the diesel generator fuel level sensor, the DUT-E SAU fuel supply automation unit sends a control signal to the switching relay of a fuel pump, which pumps fuel from the fuel storage tank to the main supply tank of a diesel generator. Once the fuel level in the generator's main supply tank reaches a certain preset value, the DUT-E SAU fuel supply automation unit will send another control signal to stop the pump. This type of automation guarantees uninterrupted operation of a diesel generator.

In addition, the J1939 I/O module can stop the genset engine if an emergency value of an operating parameter is detected, which could lead to a generator failure - e.g. low oil pressure, too high coolant temperature, etc.
